If you couldn't guess, I'm looking for a subwoofer, that will work in a studio application. The local stores have a fairly limited selection, and I need it to have TRS or XLR balances inputs and outputs (2 in, 2 out) in order for it to work in my setup (No dedicated LFE out).

So, if you happen to know of a model that has balances ins and outs, please list it! It will greatly help my search.

Hi, Sheep.

The SVS Ultras (box and cylinder) and SB12-Plus have those.

The top end Revel subs also have them. As do the Velodynes (input, but not output), and the JL subs do also. I put my $ on SVS, though. You really can't beat them for utility, quality, and value.

I need a left and right channel input and output (4 plugs total).

Thanks for looking.

Revel subs are overpriced for their performance, and I'm familiar with SVS's performance. Unfortunately as I stated above, they won't work for this application.

I should mention, this is for a very small bedroom system, so I don't need anything massive, just enough to cover the music bass range properly (I do listen to electro though, and plan on mixing it too).

All the ones that I mentioned have those. :)
Dammmmnnnn. I was looking at the thumbnails... didn't even occur to me to scroll down. Repped.

However, if I bought one those, it would not stay in my bedroom, as I only have a DPS-12 in the theater. I'm looking smaller scale, something along the lines of what Matt suggested (I guess I should have mentioned that). It needs to be around foot stool height. I miss my Logitech subwoofer for that very reason.

The Ultras are certainly larger than you want, then, but the SB12-Plus is pretty compact at 15” deep x 14" wide x 14 " high. Dang pricey, though. I have this feeling that I'll eventually get one for my computer room, but I'd like to see their new offerings next year.

It is an option on all models from Rythmik (also available through Ascend). Doesn't cost extra, but it replaces the one band PEQ which is standard.

That amplifier doesn't have enough XLR inputs and outputs (remember, 1 left input, 1 left output, 1 right input, 1 right output). It will need 4, like this.

This is the Blue Sky Sub-8, one of the ones I'm seriously considering.
