If you've got a LFE or sub out and a powered sub, there's no reason to.

The only possible reason I could ever see doing what you describe is if you have a passive sub with two speaker ins and outs. In such case, you would set the receiver to "no sub" and the front speakers to "large".

Between the OP's question and my response, you should be able to get a pretty good idea about what you're asking. Remember, OP's front speakers are his only speakers.

Who ever suggested running a sub off of their front speakers of a HT system? If you've got a LFE or sub out and a powered sub, there's no reason to. Now, that shoulfd give you a big clue.
Thanks markw.... Big Big clue...

by the way
i'd vote for blockbuster..:D

That’s ok markw,
The reason I asked was because I was looking for some wiring directions for a 5.1 I’m going to install in new construction. I found two sets.

This
shows amp to sub.

This
showed speakers to sub.

I was thinking amp to sub until I saw the other option.
That caused me to post the question…

My preference is amp to sub.

Thanks again….
