I recently had to temporary move my sub to make more room for a party we had several weeks ago. I just got around to putting it back into it's permanent place yesterday. (Not ideal placement, but I'm limited) And after running YPAO, I have a couple of questions for you guys. I took measurement from 3 positions, and YPAO set the sub at +5.0. Is this too high, should I bump up the sub volume control and run again? The volume on the sub was set at about half way, and the crossover of course was set to max, when I ran RC.

My second question is - Is it better to use the volume control on the sub, or the level control in the receiver if you need a little more volume?

I realize my sub is not a very high output sub at all, but it met my budget and space constraints. I have not taken any manual measurements ( I have been basically a plug and play simpleton) that's why I'm turning to the experts here. Also, there is a sub trim input in the menu that the manual doesn't seem to explain very well (or I'm just not getting it) anybody have any insight on this?
thanks alot.

I'd up the gain on the sub and aim at a level setting of 0 or below as a result after running YPAO.

Usually better to adjust level post YPAO and use the avr mostly for accurate/measured changes. The gain knobs even with markings don't give you that amount of control.

Thanks HD, that makes prefect sense. I'll re-run with the sub bumped up a bit.
