Yet another subwoofer placement question although it is one I have never seen referenced. Due to new furniture purchase I need to move my subwoofer. Unfortunately I am very limited on space. I have placed the subwoofer on the right side of my TV with the right main on top of it. The sound is good if but a bit loud due to the proximity to a corner. I wonder what sort or other problems I might encounter? In other words is it acceptable to stack the speakers or am I open to sonic difficulties?

Sub placement

Sounds like your sub is coupling with the walls. You may wish to turn the gain down on it a little. Also you should place your left main speaker on a stand to bring it to the level of the right one. Difference in height can cause phasing issues aswell as timbre changes due to the left speaker coupling with the floor. Or you could solve the problem by getting another identical sub Y the output for the lfe and go with 2 subs. :) that will do a couple of very nice things for you.
