I just bought a Dayton sub 120 and it doesn't seem to be working properly and sometimes not at all. My receiver is an Onkyo HT-RC160, so it has 2 sub preouts but when I plug it in I don't seem to get any signal. I have tried using both preouts (even though they output the same signal). I tried to do the audyssey setup and it recognizes that there is a sub connected, but it still doesn't seem to be outputting any sound that I can sense.

I have tried using a Y-adapter to the mono input L&R with a Coaxial Audio/Video RCA CL2 Rated Cable - RG6/U 75ohm cable to the back of a receiver and tried just using the cable to one of the inputs, but it doesn't seem to make any difference.

The funny thing is that it seemed to be working for a while, while watching TV (all HDMI hookup) I was getting good bass with the gain at a little less than 1/3. Then when I tried to watch on my xbox 360 (all component hookup) there seems to be zero bass response, and switching back to the cable the bass was no longer working again.

I've tried just about everything I can think of.

Here's what is on/off:
The crossover on the sub is set to 180Hz, and on my receiver the LPF is at 80Hz.
Front and surround crossover at 60Hz, and surround back at 80Hz
There is a switch on the back of the sub that says "Phase" and it is set to Nor.

I attached a picture of the adapter, the box says " Dual RCA (phono) male to RCA (phono) female"

Update, while posting this I was messing around with settings: It seems to be working with my Xbox now. I was somehow given access to a menu on my AVR that I wasn't able to access when in cable/sat mode that let me see that for some reason the AVR put the sub on -9.0 dB.

Also for some reason, idk if anyone knows what this means but on the screen it says <TV Sp on> and I don't know what that means or how what option changes it so if anyone can help me with this I'd be eternally grateful because I can't even place the sub until it will work.

I don't know if it's fixed now but we'll see when I watch 24, but I figure I'd post this anyway to see what you guys think

Are your speakers set to full range? Also what mains do you have?

Make sure the sub level in the receiver is set at 0Db or higher, Pg. 69. The sub may not be detecting the signal if it's set too low.
