This recommendation says that the corners are best and the worst is the middle of a wall, for subwoofer. This advice contradicts research done by Harman (JBL) Research Acoustician Todd Welti.

Actually please re-read. The Axiom article says "middle of the room, NOT wall". Also much of the research and philosophies of Axiom are on par with Harman since they follow NRC guidelines and testing and Dr. Toole was one of the original founders of the NRC.
