Subwoofer placement advice from Picture?

Does anyone know a resource for sending pictures or diagrams to get advice on subwoofer placement? Everybody's rooms are at least a little different. My listening area is what it is, and there are not really any options for moving furniture around. But I have 2 Subs (M&K v125's) and there is 2 ot 3 options I have to place them. I have read about the crawl method, and some of the technical data on soundwaves, but I would think some company or at least authoritative individual would just take a look and say..."given your options...this is where you want them, and this is why.. "

I mean I would think for someone knowledgeable, it would take less than 5 minutes to look and provide an answer.

Also, can I post pictures here for advice? I an new to this forum and don't want to break any rules.

Thanks

Forgot to mention..

Moving these subs around will mean removing them from their original spot, and buying langer cables...so I know I could do the "try and see" method, but don't want the hassle and expense if they are already in the best spot.

The top thread under subwoofers recommends a few two-woofer setups. Maybe the article can help. The subwoofer manufacturing companies often offer the kind of advice you are looking for, so maybe you should contact the manufacturer.

You can post a picture on here and we can try and give you some spots we would "imagine" to be a good place to start. But, it's really hard to eye subwoofer placement, you have to measure it. There are so many variables, that I don't think anyone could confidently tell you "based on the picture you have posted, this is the absolute best place to put your subwoofers."

I would get a Behringer Feedback Destroyer (which is basically just a cheap parametric EQ), an SPL meter, some longer cables and a test CD (Stereophile sells pretty good ones). You have some VERY NICE subwoofers, don't let a few hundred bucks and some effort get in the way of them performing to their potential!

Also, see this thread/article for some guidence on multi-sub hookups:

Audyssey MultEQxt

Part of this re-arranging is due to buying a new reciver. The Denon AVR-4308ci...I am expecting it this Friday. Since it has the Audyssey MultEQxt calibration...maybe the placement isn't so critical? anyway here are some pics.

I tried to name them with where I could possibly place a sub. My room is only 13ft wide....but about 30 ft. long including the kitchen area.

As you can see, Right now, I have the subs positioned firing at the listening area on the opposite side of the 13 ft. with my couch up against the opposite wall. I know this isn't a great room for acoustics, but I have to make the best of it.

From reading some of the technical info, it may be better to have them where the small plant is and the other where the tree is, so they are firing at each other?

Any advice is appreciated!

Picture desc.

I guess posting these did not keep the filename...

I am thinking where the small plant is under the window and where the tree is by the kitchen

Or, where the small plant is under the window and between the lounger and the couch in the same picture....this way both subs would be in a corner...sort of...which I have read is desireable.

In a rectangular room, we might be able to at least get you close. But in a room like that, it would be an even bigger shot in the dark.

I would highly recommend investing in the Behringer Feedback Destroyer, an SPL meter and a test CD. It's a big payoff for a small investment that you can keep for a very long time. Either that or play around with placement until you hear something that sounds good. I would try stacking them, moving one to the rear, and any combination you can think of.

Thanks

Thanks for the advice. I think I will try just with the Audyssey MultEQxt
my new receiver has first. I am sure it is not as refined as a Behringer destroyer, but I hear they work pretty well. I think opposite ends of the room may be best. Right now, with both pointing at a wall only 13 ft away, I think I am getting a lot of bouncing sound waves, which make it muddy ( I think that is the right term)
