As I wheeled in my new JVC AV-65WP55, I quickly hooked it up to my existing stereo system to include a Polk Audio sub. After about 45 minutes, I began to notice the bottom ticker (on CNN, FoxNews, etc) was skewing down towards the sub. When I inspected the convergance grid, my suspsicions were confirmed. I researched the sub and found out it was unshielded so I moved it across the room. The grid seems to be slowly realigning but after 24 hours, it's still not right. I've been reading the TV will slowly degause itself. Any ideas? Thanks!

J, if one of the CRT was litely magnetized by the sub, eventually the internal degausser will bring things back to normal, but it takes a while. If it was strongly magnetized usually you'll see a discoloration of the purity most likely on that corner of the screen where the sub was close to the CRT.

Usually the discoloration is mostly noticeable on a solid color background of the screen, you might need an external demagnetizer coil to get rid of it. Wait a while see if things go back to normal, and you don't have to worry about getting any worse. Please read this article about purity problems, if you will.
