Subwoofer not producing any sound

Receiver Model: Yamaha RX-A1020
Subwoofer Model: Klipch R-112sw
I have a new Klipsch R-112SW subwoofer connected to the Yamaha RX-A1020 using the L/LFE line connected to the Subwoofer 1 Pre Out jack. I've tried different pin cables which have worked for me in the past. The green power light is on so the subwoofer is getting power. Previously I had a Pioneer SW-8MK2 connected to this receiver that I thought was working (because the power light was on) but I just tried to reconnect this subwoofer and it will not produce sound either. I am now under the opinion that a subwoofer has never worked for this receiver.
I tried the receiver's YPAO last night and when it went to produce sound from the subwoofer only a low muffled sound was audible. I also tried the receiver's test tone which produced no sound at all.
I diconnected the subwoofer cable at the receiver and taped the pin and received a loud thump through the subwoofer, so it appears the cable and subwoofer are not the problem.

Any ideas?

Kind of a silly question but, did you try Sub out #2? If #1 is dead, perhaps #2 works?

I like the question, wish I'd thought of it. I'll try try testing the the sub 2 out.

We have a booming subwoofer with the sub out 2.
