Help, I am new to setting this stuff up.
I have an Atlantic Technology 334SB and a YamahaAX1000. As soon as I plug the subwoofer cable in I get a loud low rumbling from the subwoofer
This sounds like a ground loop.
Disconnect everything from the receiver except the speakers, and plug the receiver and sub into the same outlet. The noise should be gone. If not, you almost certainly have a faulty sub or receiver.
Now connect your peripheral devices back up one by one, and note which one brings back the deep hum.
Usually ground loops are caused by connection to cable and or internet/phone connections.
