Hi,

I'm a newbie so excuse the simple question. I have an older Bose Acoustimass system that I'd like to use with my new 32" Samsung LCD HDTV. Can I locate the speakers upstairs near the TV and mount the subwoofer (which is large and unsightly) between the rafters in the basement below the location of the TV?

Thanks for any help.

Paul

If there is no vent in the floor for the bass to travel fairly directly through then you will get poor midbass/bass response.

NO listen JG, accoustimass units are not "subs" and need to fairly exposed.

You don't have to locate the bass module in a highly visible area. You can hide it behind a couch, table, entertainment center, end table, plant, etc... (that means you will have to take care of wiring to allow for that). You could also cover it up by draping cloth or something similar over it to make it less noticeable.
