Audyssey should be asking you to set your gain to about 73/74dB prior to testing. I’m not a big fan of the room correction, but I wanted Audyssey to set distance and levels, which it usually does well. Unless u have something wired going on, your sub distance will probably read further away than they actually are, who’s is fine: a result of their on-board dsp. After testing though, my subs were too hot, so I had to adjust both my gain and avr trim down. I did this by ear so that upright bass sounded in balance with other instruments. I did not adjust the speaker-level setting, rather the subwoofer level setting (I’m on a Marantz, should be similar, I think). In the end, I also turned Audyssey off, just keeping the levels and distances.
Your bass preferences may vary.
Likewise, depending on your subs and room size, you might need them set hotter.
YMMV
