I've done a LOT of research in this area over the last few months and yes, it can be a good solution to space and WAF issues. However, careful consideration must be given to placement before installing. If you're very fortunate, you'll find a spot where it'll perform well. You'll
have to experiment with placement before cutting holes in the wall.
I've settled on installing a pair of subwoofers in my ceiling. They'll be entirely DIY, which makes it much more affordable.
Please, don't just pick a spot in a wall and stick it in there. You'll probably be disappointed.
If you plan to use equalization (such as a DCX2496) with the subwoofer, it'll make placement a bit more flexible.
I suggest you have a look at Annunaki's "Custom In-wall Sub" thread. It may inspire some ideas.
I just had a look at the JL Fathom IWS - $4500!!!

If you want performance at a reasonable cost, go DIY. Did you have a budget in mind?
