1. What kind of receiver are you using? Did you change any of the settings on the receiver?
2. Make sure the cable box is set to allow a digital signal to go to the receiver.

i am nopt familiar with that receiver. Others could probably give you better advise but here goes!
I looked it up and it shows that it has "subwoofer detect". I would assume that it is hooked up correctly...an rca cable running from subwoofer out on the receiver to either red or white IN on the subwoofer??? once that is established check the manual and make sure all your speaker settings are correct on the receiver (large/small/and subwoofer). "subwoofer detect" leads me to beleive that the receiver should recognize the subwoofer hooked up and all should be fine. Next check the receiver. When you have it set to CD or DVD, make sure the receiver is set to Optical (i think that was the type of cable you were using) in.
If that is all set...check your sub.
Is the power on?
is the volume turned up enough?
could it be blown?

I was writing when you replied. glad all is fine!
Enjoy!
