Subwoofer help!

Hi, im looking for a pair of subwoofers to host parties for, to give some amazing trouser shaking, heart clenching bass. I was thinking of a pair of EV Tx1181's. I was also thinking of the Fane Collosus and building an enclosure.

How big is the party room and what equipment are you intending to drive them with?

Also, do you need powered or will passive subs with an outboard amp also work?

the party rooms will differ in size, but up to 75 people. If i get the tx1181 subs i will get the samson sx3200 to power them both. Probably the same if i get the fane collosus. But i sort of need to know how the bass is going to be. Dubstep and drum and bass will be played mostly and i really want that pounding bass.

also i would prefer active, but passive is also acceptable

im looking to spend up to £800 for a pair second hand. Anyone got any pros and cons of the tx1181 subwoofers?
