BIC H100 and Cadence Xsub are the budget leaders. Personally, I would go with the H100 after reading this thread.

Next time, use the search. It will answer most of your questions.

Wow thanks sheep... after looking at that thread really pointing me to HSU... I guess that would be a good budget way.. but how about velo and klipsch comparing to Hsu..?

For the money, you can't beat the H100.

Polk's subs are junk. I'd say it was safe to go with the H100. There is also the X-sub from AV123 for $199 (only in shadow maple at the moment).

I bought a Cadence XSUB ~2 years ago for $189. It was roughly the H100, minus the huge surround but with a more powerful amp. If I could go back in time, I'd probably spend the extra and get something like this:

http://www.hsustore.com/stf2.html

My room is roughly the same size as yours, but it opens up to a kitchen and dinette area, and really needs a larger sub. The STF 2 would sell much easier and for closer to the retail price than would a H100 or XSUB should one want to upgrade. It's hard to justify spending the extra at the time of purchase, but when you look back, most always say "I should've went with the better product." Now, if your budget is max $250, then your decision is fine. It's just hard to realize how much better these $400 - $500 subs sound than the < $250 subs.

Why do you prefer this sub over the Infinity? For roughly the same price you get a noted brand name and twice the amp power (150 vs. 300 watts RMS).

Nice front speakers, btw. :)

EDIT: A JBL EC35 would go smashingly with your mains.

Thanks for the reply guys..

To answer your question Rj.. With all the reviews from user to Prof. pointing me to H100. for one they all say the same thing for the price sounds like a $400 to $600 sub... the looks and styles looks great:D :D

For infinity, i get a lot of mix reviews on them from other user, can't find a Prof. review on them... Btw thanks about my JBL L100T vintage stuff lol.... still sound pretty good :D :D dome tweeter 4"mid and a 12" woofer rock the house lol...hehehe:D

Buck thanks for the infor. on the Hsu... I have seen them, but just can't come up with anymore money... maybe later on...but not right now.  If i can find them in the $250 range would be :D :D

Can anyone tell me if the Klipsch SS.1 a good surround speaker... because i am going to buy them today... for $139 new... remember budget right now...

thanks
