Subwoofer disassembly/reassembly help?

I've done something a little foolish and taken my sub apart. The reason was that it kept making a clicking or weird noise (like when you touch the rca cable to your finger - feedback) even when the receiver wasn't on. The problem is that it was a blind unplugging of cables in the cabinet, and where I thought there were two cables, there were in fact three.

Here's some info on the sub.

Athena Sub 8 (I've heard that this is a rebadged Energy sub, from a 5.1 system Athena had a while back)

8" driver, 300 watt peak
It has the speaker on the front and 1 hole/tube in the rear, so I think this makes it a "ported" system.

I can't find a ton of info on it, other than a few "dead" links:

Here are some photos of the plates/internals:

As you can see there are 3 "prongs" in the first pic of the transformer. It is an MCI transformer, with the following markings on it: 5AMT100NI and 04/15. I cannot find any info on this either, but the MCI website says they make custom transformers so this could be such an occasion.

The PC boards all say "Audio Products International" which mean Energy. You can see in photos 5 & 6 that there are 2 white and one black wire going towards the bottom of the photo. These were connected to the transformer, and I'm not sure how to reconnect them.

They are labeled as follows:
White #1 - SP1
White #2 - SP2
Black - SP3

The other black and red wires are named GND and SPK+ respectively, and go to the speaker.

Anyone that has any insight on how I can get this back together, would be a great help. Also, while I have it apart, anything I should check to solve that problem? could it be the cable or something internal. Lastly, those DIYers out there, should I bother with this? What could I do with it for a modest sum to really get more out of it.

Thanks!

I edited your links so they work. Normally as a newbie, you can't post working links. In this situation it seemed allowable.

Anyway, You did not take a picture before disassembly, or label the wires from where you disconnected them?

I would contact Athena and let them know what you did. I am sure they can help you out Athena and let you knwowhere to attach them.

I usually suggest that if one is not familiar with the internals of electronics, do not open them up. :)

It’s a fairly uncommon thing to happen these days with mass production products leaving the factor floor and into the hands of the consumer. One out of a few hundred might have a slight fault problem.

I would have contacted the company and seen if they could have helped you before you took anything apart. So for right now I would just put it back to get together and maybe use air sprayer to clean it out.
