I would like to know if it is worth building my own sub.I would like to put a dual voice coil sub in living room. Or an 8 ohm sub?Should I just buy a floor sub.

1. Yes, it can be worth it to build your own sub.
2. Why do you want to use a dvc sub?
3. Also, why an 8 ohm? Do you alread have an amp you are planning to use? If so, what kind?

If you tell us your room size, budget and intended use (movies, music or both?) we can recommend something for you.

I am Starting from scratch so I'm basically asking for a general idea of what to use.I want maximum sound for strictly music.I like a lot of clean bass and do not know the best route for building a sub. What are some good subs to start from scratch.Maybe a 15" or 12" for deep bass.

If you have no previous experience building any Hi Fi gear, I would advice you to stay clear of the idea, of course building your own sub gives you good value for money but without prior experience you are better of buying a branded one.
