Subwoofer Confusion

First off, thanks to all in this form. I've only posted a few times, but have been reading in the background for quite a while. All the comments and reviews were invaluable in helping select my final HT setup.

So, on to my question (or confusion). The only thing I'm missing is a sub. I was planning on getting the Axiom EP350 since I love my other Axiom speakers, but after reading the reviews and posts, it seems there are better subs to be had for $650. I don't want to skimp on my sub, but would like to target the $650 price range if possible.

I read the Audioholics review of the Rocket ULW-10 and its seems like an excellent sub. Do you think it would match up well with the Axiom's? Are there any other subs I should be considering? After saving up for the "5" I don't want to get a ".1" that's not at the same level.

I can not speak to the performance of the EP350 since I have never heard it, but you already know you can get it and return it if you do not like it. Their higher end subs have received high praise buy some on this forum so...?

You do not need to match a sub to your system. You only need to match your other 5 or 7 not the ".1".

I'm sure many here will recomend the SVS or Hsu subs for the money.

Just go out and demo and see if you can find some thing you like and then report back if you would like any more specific info.

The M60's are incredible! Not to sound like an Axiom salesman, but they (and the VP150 and QS8) really did live up to all the hype I read on the web.

Thanks for the PB-10 tip. I'll take a look.

You might also want to look at the Hsu STF-3, but tuned to 20Hz (they can do this, you just have to call and ask).
