subwoofer cable question

from reading other post it sounds like many people use coaxial cable I.E. RG6 for the subwoofer connection. Is this correct? If so, where do you get the RCA ends to crip onto the RG6. I went to Radio Shack and they didn't have that end. If this is true it would help me lots. I have RG6 running all over my home. It would make subwoofer placement a lot easier.

Buy that cable with F connector, premade, then just by two converter plugs ar Radio Shack from F at one end to RCA at the other. Forget crimping.
