Well a few days back I posted a thread about my sub's cable being the problem.. Anyways, I want to know why and if there is a way to fix this.

Sooooo I was moving things around, and when I plugged my sub back in, there was this BOOOOOOOOOOOOOM because everytime the cable touches anything from the other side of the connector from the sub's line out... it makes this noise.. but this noise goes higher or lower depending on the gain. And it's constant...

Anyways, I took that cable out, and used a 6 feet coaxial cable that is ALSO shielded.. works great.. what's wrong with the defective one? it looks great and it is a lot longer so I can have more experimentation on where the sub is best... but right now I am limited to one spot...

Anyways, if I can't fix this quickly.. I'll just grab a new cable from partsexpree for 12 bucks or so...

Do you have an ohm meter? test continuity of that cable, center pin to center pin, and the ring to ring. Wiggle the connectors to see if the continuity breaks. Perhaps there is a cold joint in there which can be re-soldered if you can get in there.
Or, you may have that inside the sub amp? or receiver out plug?

You could double check with another spare interconnect, or just grabbing one from the amp/receiver temporarily.

While I would assume you would look for bite marks if you had a pet, Fritz the cat had his way with a sub cable of mine a few years back. Just a thought....
