I've been considering a subwoofer upgrade for some time, I'm considering all the usual suspects in the $500-$1000 range.

Mainly:
HSU VTF3.3 & VTF15
Epik Legend & Empire
Outlaw LFM1 EX & Plus
Elemental Designs A5-350 & A7s-450
SVS PB12
Rythmik FV12 & FV15

My room is ~22x16x8 and opens to our dining room and kitchen. I'd like to ideally stick with one sub, and likely will error on the side of more sub than necessary.

If anyone has any of the subs on the list, or even a comparable model not listed in the Chicagoland area who wouldn't mind me stopping by for a short listening session please contact me.

I'm not in a rush to purchase and have been watching the forums, audiogon, ebay, b-stocks, and manufacturer sites for deals. If something to good too pass on comes up I'll most likely just pull the trigger. From my research, I don't think there is a real loser in the group.

You should call Jeff at JTR Speakers. He is currently in Chicago but is moving the company to Wisconsin soon. The un-powered Captivator would be a good choice.
