Which is the best way to hookup a subwoofer. Is it best to connect the single subwoofer output from the reciever, into a "Y" connector and then into the two red and white "Line In" inputs in the back of the subwoofer?

Or is it best to connect the single subwoofer output from the back of the reciever to the "LFE: input on the back of the subwoofer? I need help on which is the best way.

The signal Subwoofer output to the LFE input on the sub is the best way.

What sub are you talking about? Sounds like a Polk. Usually the LFE input bypasses the sub's x-over and the line level uses it, so if you are feeding it from a sub pre-out from a receiver, what Jaxvon said is correct.
