Sub Woofer Settingings..

I have used the auto setup on my Yamaha Rx-V3800 and it has the subwoofer crossover set at 160 hz. Is this an acceptable range? I am using a 12" velodyne DLS-4000 and a Klipsch dual 10" (active and passive) sub, also using Klipsch RF-5 series mains, center and surround.

Also I have heard that if I have my speaker set to large, then all the low and highs go to my main speakers. Does this conflict with the sound image going to the subs?

Set the LFE out to Subwoofer, Mains, center, and surrounds to small, and crossover to 80 hz. and call it a day. But do listen to what the sub sounds like with the phase reversed, as it may sound better. Both of my subs sound better with the phase reversed.

Glock put it about as simple as you can get and it will work.

My YPAO sets my crossover at 200hz on one hit and at 60hz on the next.

Speakers set to small, crossover at 60-90hz, LFE sub only and get out and have fun.
