I'm looking at a Paradigm sub that has 1200 watts of power (maybe even 2 of them) and I was wondering if you just run a cable from the pre out sub of a Yamaha RXV-2500 or RXV-4600 to the sub woofer????

Also if i want to run it to two if the do i get a subwoofer amp????

Im looking for good sound in my theater room and i want to know how i can achieve the full capabilities of a sub like this if i get one.

Thanks in advance.

The sub is powered. You just run a cable from the receiver to the sub. Most subs have a LFE(cable) pass through. So you would just use another cable to go to the next sub. Remember, the sub has to be by a power source.

I would try it with one sub first. Also, it is a good idea to spend a few months with speaker placement and system fine tuning before you decide you need two subs.
