Sub-woofer cable recommendation for long run

I may have to place my sub-woofer in the rear wall corner, if I run the spkr cable up the front wall, thru the attic & down the rear wall, it's 65'. What type of spkr wire would you recommend for this distance or is it ill-advised?

Is this a powered sub woofer? If so, use a RG6 type TV cable.
If not a powered sub, use 12 ga speaker wire and shouldn't pay more than
$.30/ft.

new question regarding sub cables

How important is it to have a good sub cable? What kind of connections should I look for? Is a silver ends going to sound better, what is the best way to get the best sound from a sub cable?

I have connected my subwoofer up with a yellow RCA cord that comes with a DVD player. Seriously, I heard no difference.

But, better cables sheild better and this cable was not neer any other cables.

I'll put it bluntly: Audioquest is full o' crap. Silver terminations won't make your cable better (in any meaningful way). They might lower the resistance a fraction of an ohm, but that won't make a whit of difference in your music. The importance of a good sub cable is to minimize loss and reject interference. A hefty center conductor and adequate shielding will ensure this. My advise? Get a solidly built cable that sports a hefty center conductor (low resistance is good if you have a long run) that has quality terminations (for long life), and gold plating to resist corrosion. Your pocketbook will thank you. As for a brand, I think you'd do well with something from Blue Jeans. They use high-quality Belden and Canare coax (the stuff you'd find in a studio) and terminate it with precision tooling. While I don't believe they'll make it look super pretty with techflex, you can opt to do that yourself with a few dollars in techflex and shrink tube from Parts Express. Might I also add that Impact Acoustics offers 25% for being an Audioholics member. Their cables are also top-notch (and feature silver on some of them, if that's your thing). Check them out:

Thanks guys!

I see where Blue Jean offers sub-woofer cable in up to 60' lengths, which is what I need, for < $80. I have not priced out Parts Express, however.

Is there a maximum cable length for sub-woofers?

As long as the Gauge is sufficient size for the length of the cable, you should be able to get some long cords. Mind you, they will get quite thick in the 3 digit lengths (or should).

Believing that silver termination will improve the sound is like...

...beliving that when leaving the beach, making sure every grain of sand between your toes is removed will single handedly prevent beach erosion and restore it to prior times.

I assume that the pre-determined 60' sub-woofer cable from BlueJean would be of sufficent gauge.

Oh, by the way, it's a Klipsch RSW-10 powered sub-woofer.

I have the BlueJean Sub Cable

In fact 100% of my cables & wire was ordered from BlueJeans; they build a very high quality no-nonsence product that delivers. If you have any question about the length of your run just give them a call and they will discuss it; there are some VERY knowledgable people there that will discuss all of your options.

I even called them about a 50' sub cable that was made for me years ago by a local guy and they looked up the specs for the Canare Cable that was used for this cable and told me it would be fine as long as I keep it away from electrical wires as it's sheilding was not the best.

I have a bluejeans sub cable also. Along with others.

And I will never buy another brand. It's just too easy to get what you need, in what lenght you need. The best cable for the job is used. They did the homework already. And, it makes it to your door very, very quickly.
