Just bought the imagine T's and need a sub, room is 18x19, 8 ft. ceilings. It is not a dedicated listening room so I want something that is going to look nice and not take up a ton of room as well. 70/30 music/movies, but when I watch an action movie, I'd like to be able to feel the blasts.

Have an opp to get a 11 month old mint PSB HD-10 for about $600 (retail of $1500) or should I just go with an SVS SB-12 for a few $$ more?

the PSB seems like a good deal but I am not sure how it'll compare.

Thoughts?

I would post a link to the HD-10 but dont have the ability to until i get 5 posts... they do have the measurements for it on the PSB website but to be honest I have no idea what they all mean! nor do I have the ability to audition either sub....

HD-10 is rated down to 35 Hz - not problem for most music, but for movies you wont " feel the blasts"
Epic Legend at $499 have better lower extension, thou it is bigger than hd-10

I'd consider hd-10 for my HT only as last resort compromise due to WAF issues

Don't worry about linking it - it's easy enough to find ;)

so it sounds like I should def. skip the PSB even though its almost $1000 off? it just seemed like too good a deal to pass on, but I def. do not want to be dissapointed with the performance. Its just difficult because I dont have a whole lot of places to put it, with what furniture is in the room and where the L&R speakers need to go...

Do you think the Epik would be a better option than the SVS sealed or ported 12"? or the HSU VTF-3?

Thanks

PSB sub would be very good sub like I said if the size has most importance above all - it's gets very expensive to build good small sub. Plus ID makers have much better offering in subs than regular established brands.

See this thread for same budget sub:
