will this sub work good for gaming and movies, or will i be better suited with something else in the 300-400 price range i know svs has the pb10 for 429 any suggestions.
I think that a lot of people take for granted how much work a subwoofer does in a home theater system. If you are using bass managment or plan to in the future, you will need a subwoofer that can take the load off of all the other speakers in the system. This can greatly improve the sound of the entire system. And, if you look at a subwoofer as two components, a speaker and an amplifier, $300 or $400 does not sound like so much money any more.

I would suggest that you save up and buy something that will last you a long time and make your home theater experience what it is meant to be. It will also make your existing speakers sound bigger.

If you're in Ohio, why don't you take a road trip over to SVS and hear their subs first hand?
