i just got a new powered sub,replaceing a passive one.anyway my audio rack won't allow me to place it upright,would it hurt anything if i lay it on it's side? sorry for such a noob question.thanks.

i got a sony,it's in my very tight budget range.due to pets and how my living /viewing room is set up i've got my curent one on the bottom shelf on my rack which is beside my tv.the new sum is 14 inches tall and it's 13 between each of my shelves

I'm not eliminating the possibilitiy that where you have the sub now might work for you but I'm very skeptical. Read the link below. It will help you find a better position for the sub. I guess I should ask, does it have to go in the audio rack or are you free to experiment with location?
