Sub-out to amplifier and sub-woofer

I have amplifiers feeding by sub. They are James name brand. The cross-overs are set at 80. But my AVT has a crossover also set at 80. I doubt I need both crossovers so I turned my sub-amps way up ie turned the cross over level to infinity. Was that correct to do?

Yes, you don't need both, so turning the x-over all the way up on the receiving end is correct.

Yup. That is correct. Turn the sub amp XO to max will bypass the sub amp XO.

william, your basic idea towards this problem was absolutely correct. Although it doesn’t matter that much since one crossover set at 80, it’s only the lowest value that counts in a chain. Anyways, you don’t have to tune it all the up way to infinity, you can keep it at a lower value too. Things like this depend upon how you feel like since that don’t make a huge difference in the system.
