Sub hum, beebing noise.

Now, I know it isn't the amplifier. That is unless I have two subs with the exact same problem. I had a KLH 8" powered woofer, I know it is crap hence why I call it a powered woofer.:D It would do this strange thing where it would beeb/hum at any point while it was on, being driven hard, easy, or not at all. I thought there was something wrong with it, so I returned it.

Well I have another sub now. It is a 12" RCA/Tandy/Optimus Subwoofer with a 120 watt rms amplifier. It is doing the same exact thing.

Notes: I am using a different receiver than I was with the KLH, I am using an AudioQuest sub cable and y-adapter. It is a stationary two prong power cord design. It is plugged into a Magnavox power tap that has all my other audio components conected to it listed in my signature. (though the KLH happened to be conected to a seperate outlet from the main system) All my components have stationary 2 prong power cables.

If there is any other helpful info you need, I would be more than happy to type twenty paragraphs to explain everything, though I would rather not.:D

I'm having a similar problem. It first started around when I setup my 6.2 (added the second sub) but now its continued. I think its from having all the components on 1 outlet (or breaker). My room is awful in this regard, 1 15A breaker split between my room, a built in vaccum, fridge/freezer, and another room's outlets.

Any time my DVD player is loading a new screen or I hit enter, skip, etc it bumps. My PC USED to do it, but I replaced the cable form my digital out and it seems to have stopped. It will also do it when I swtich inputs or hit the mute button.

I think my receiver is about to go, but its old anyway, time for descrete 7.1!

You seem to be gettting tired, lots of typo's.:D

Mine does it anytime it feels like it. It gradually comes in with a beebing hum becoming increasingly more annoying, like swarm of Canadian mosquitoes:D, and then it dissipates. It will do it while I am watching something or when there isn't any source being fed to it (while it is still on, it has an auto shut off). And as I said before the KLH I had before did exactly the same thing with a completely different receiver.

My source would be a DVD player. I have on-board Dolby 5.1 decoding.

As for my receiver, It has Dolby EX and DTS-ES.

Did you like the bit about the mosquitoes?:D
