How large is your room?
Sunfire subs are all about maximum power, excursion, and footprint. If size is the main issue, it would be a good purchase. If you can go a bit larger, something like Mirage's S12 may give you more bass for HT.
If you have up to $1500 to spend, a large room, and plenty of area for an extra "end table", I'd suggest you consider an SVS PB12 Plus/2 with an upgraded finish. You cannot purchase a better sub for the money unless you build one yourself. Just keep in mind this monster is 26.5x19x28 inches.
