Trying to decide between the Outlaw Audio Ultra-X13 and the SVS SB-4000. Any suggestions?
Trying to pair it with EMP E55ti fronts.

The Outlaw X13 can keep up with the SB16-Ultra so it should be able to have a significant advantage over the SB-4000. If you are looking for sheer performance, it should be a step up above the SB-4000. The reason is it has a much larger cabinet. The sealed subs from SVS are a great choice when size is an issue.

One, a large ported box, the other a relatively compact sealed sub. Not really comparable. Maybe compare against the PB4000.

SVS is more expensive (PB) but you get some good perks with SVS. You might want to take a look at the monoprice THX 15 sub as well.

I was also wondering why the two quite different subs. $1500 is the price point I assume, or ? It really doesn't matter what your speakers are fwiw. How big a room is this for? Have you considered two less expensive subs instead? Is this part of a home theater or only for music (and if so what kind)?

The sub will be used for home theater. Ideally, I only have room for 1 sub. It will be placed in a conner and behind the TV/cabinet. Price wise $1500 is the max (lower would be better).
The room is 20 w x 10 L x 9 H.

Hopefully the location you have in mind works well altho the most convenient location may not be the ideal one. In that size room one sub should work well enough, tho. You might also consider the Rythmik FV15HP maybe also the Hsu VTF-3 MK5 HP or VTF-15H Mk2.

Thinking of pairs of subs maybe a couple of the Hsu VTF-2 Mk5
