Will be using JBL 530's as monitors for my 2.1 desktop system in my home office. Need to add a sub. Room is about 17x15, not that it matters to much in this system. Outlaw Audio has a great deal on the M8 sub right now. Anyone know of anything better under 450.00 for a small sub? Maybe the RSL speed woffer.
HSU has the VTF1 MK3 for 399.00. This is a large sub however. Suggestions?

Outlaw has their 8" sub on sale for $199 shipped! Here is a link:

Very capable little sub. Dr. Hsu had a big hand in the design. Not a bad deal if you ask me! Good luck!

I am not sure that Dr. Hsu helped to design the M8; where did you get that information? I know he helped with the original LFM. If you need a small subwoofer for less than $450, I would go with the speedwoofer. If the application is for music, I would consider the SVS SB1000. I think the VTF1 would be the highest performer, but if you don't have room for it, that is that.

That may be it Shady. Thought that I read Dr. Hsu helped in the design on the M8, but it was the LFM. My bad on that one. But, for $199 shipped the M8 is not a bad choice for music applications. BTW, why does Hsu not have an 8" sub anymore? Just noticed that. How long has he not offered the 8"?

Cheers,

Phil

I think its been a couple years since the STF1 was discontinued? I can only guess why Hsu does not have the STF1 available anymore. I would guess that the net profit per unit does not outweigh the time spent on customer support per unit for such a modest sum.
