Hi, Need your advice in selecting sub for my HT.

I have aready decided upon

Velo CHT front row speaker system.
Onkyo 504 AV receiver.

Subs I am looking at
1)Bic H100
2)SVS pb10-NSD
3)HSU VTF-1

This is going to be in my living room with openings to hallway, kitchen and stairs on one side of the room. Room Dimensions are 20"L X 12"W X 10"H. TV and main speakers are located one one side of the rooms length and seating position will be opposite to that. Listening area will be 10 X 12.

Due to WAF loudness levels will be very low. I am looking at releastic sound reproduction at a very low loudness levels. Best sub placement I have is between
the two couches on left corner just beside one of the seating positions.

How many movies are out there that goes below 25Hz? If there are very few may I don't need to worry about deep extension below 25Hz. My mind says Bic H100 will be sufficient by my heart says go for SVS or HSU for that additional WOW factor. Please let me know.

The HSU and SVS are a big step from the H-100. While it's a good sub for the price it's not really a contender in that group of subs.

I think currently the HSU is the better deal right now at $410 shipped. I had a PB-10 and loved it so flip a coin, you can't go wrong with either of them.

Thanks. PB10 goes all the way down to 20Hz whereas VTF-1 is 25Hz. Should I worry about that?

Is VTF-1 much better than STF-2 since STF-2 is going for around $80 less. I am checking since i am also debating between bic h-100 and stf-2.

MANY movies go below 20Hz these days, you'd be surprised how many. I would go with the PB-10 or the VTF-2 MkIII which still has the $469 price listed.

B-stock white PB-10 is $430 shipped to my place. I am concerned with loudness levels of PBS-10 since I don't go upto that loudness levels.

You are in control of volume. Just because your car can go 120 MPH does not mean you have to drive it that fast.

The deepest bass doesn't need to be played at 110dB to turn a good flick into a great flick. Spend as much as you can on a sub that goes as low as possible. There is a huge difference in a cheap sub with a 12" driver that struggles to go down to 25Hz, and a high end sub that goes below 20Hz.

The PB10 is great, but if you can stretch and get the PB12 NSD, it will be worth every penny and then some once you watch a few flicks with sub 20Hz bass.

You mean on the earthquake scene the house doesn't have to start moving off the foundation? My quest is over!:D
