So I think I will be going for a pair of onix x-ls bookshelfs and a sub, that will do it for me. Then I may get something else to add to it later on.

Bur I was wondering wqhat sub you would reccomend, and keeping it under 200$.

Ok, just so you know, I dont need anything powerful, as I used to own a pair of logitech x-530's, they had, I think, a 6" sub, and that thing put out too much bass for me. So I'm not big into bass, but I'm gonna want to hear it.

I've heard nothing my good stuff about the Hsu STF-1 and Outlaw LFM-2. Same woofer, different implimentations.

Little over budget, but worth it if you can stretch it.

I would reccommend those above too, if not the X-sub would be a perfect match at $199.

It has gotten good reviews and for the price I dont think you could do better, but for 100 more you can!

I am also looking for a sub, but my budget is $250. I will be using it in a 5.1 bedroom system. My room small, approx 800cu.ft. so I do not need something very large.

So far I have narrowed it down to:
1. Onix X-sub ($200+$40shipping)
2. Cadence XSub12 ($230shipped)
3. Velodyne VX10 ($166.06shipped)

The Onix is on backorder and won't be available until Sept. 12. The Cadence website does not let you add it to your cart, so I do not know if it is available.

I would buy the Velodyne on price and name alone, but the freq response is not very good (36-120 Hz +/-3dB). I want something that can at least go below 30Hz.

Please give any suggestion that could help the both of us.

STF-1. Member Jaxvon has one, and says it will go down to 25hz in room. Solid subwoofer, from a great company.

If you want a bit bigger sub, with more extension you could look at the BIC H100. Search H100 and you should fine a decent amount of threads about it.

Any of the HSU subs are excellent for their price.
