i have a 14 year old Paradigm ps1200 that is vibrating , so i think its blown ….its in my home theater paired with Paradigm monitor 9s, adp-350 ,cc-350 and a sony str -dn1040 amp is it worth trying to repair ? or should i replace and with what ? theater is 14x26 with 8' ceiling … i have built 2 corner floor to ceiling bass traps , one triangular bass trap and first reflection panels due to the room wasn't built has a theater , one wall is metal studs and drywall ( the other 3 are wooden studs ) and a drop tile ceiling that i insulated above …. so the room isn't really quality constructed for a theater ….the old sub was 12", ported and only 150 watt and it could still rattle the room…. any advice is welcome i haven't kept up with equip. in like 12 years

Rythmik and SVS would be my two first choices, and then Hsu, depending on your budget.

I would go for a Hsu VTF3 mk5, amazing sub for the money, both in sound quality and output. I think its the best bang for the buck in subs at the moment.

i would like to stay under $1000….. aim concerned how my room will support a good sub…if having tighter bass would be easier on it

I just posted a review on that very subwoofer yesterday, so I know exactly what you're getting. What are your room dimensions (HWD)?
