Sub $700.00 HTIB Reviews?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like there is only 1 review total of a HTIB system, and it is from Pioneer and uses wireless technology.

It seems that a lot of readers to the site - especially noobs, are looking for a first system and really want to get a cheap HTIB system. An all in one package where they don't have to part things up and figure things out.

About 700 bucks seems to be the cutoff between parting things up and getting a HTIB and it just seems like it would be great to have some reviews of some more of those lesser expensive systems.

Especially when you consider that last years Onkyo HT-S770 which gave full 6.1 for $500.00 is now available as a refurb w/warranty for under $300.00 shipped - it seems like the perfect intro to someone on a really tight budget. Now, as well, we have new offerrings from Denon which may raise the bar for performance, or may just be a lackluster product from a company many of us respect and enjoy.

Just a suggestion that it seems a lot of people are asking about the $500.00 HTIB and more importantly, many people are buying a HTIB that doesn't have component inputs or has VERY limited inputs and then they don't understand why they can't hook their HD box to the system at all.

I like the Yamaha ones that use HTR amps. Great for upgrading, and sound pretty damn good. Gotta love YST.

just as a side thought I own the Onkyo 770 HTIB and for the price this thing is in my opinion the very best out there. The receiver it comes with has more inputs than anything else I have seen offered in such a package. The sub actually gets down there and the speakers are not bad at all. One of the best deals around. If you're looking for an intro system and dont mind larger speakers than this is the way to go. Just my 2 cents

Yes, but wouldn't it be nice to have that reviewed and compared to other models around that price point for some real comparison? What if there IS something better for the cash. Not just 'prettier' but actually BETTER?

I know it is fun to run a website and be able to review some really nice toys that only a fraction of the people can afford, or want to, but I think it is much more beneficial to the newbies just trying to reach some budget goals to know 2 or 3 of their absolute best options for the dollar.

Clint!?!?! Where are you on this man! :D ;) :D
