Guys,
When programing your pre-pro or your reciever you set up your speaker size and take care of your bass management, so why then do you have to set it up again in your DVD player?

Thanks for your input.....

u don't...i think

The base management in the player is for the analog outputs on the player. whilst the base management in the AVR is for the digital output of your player. Unless you are using your player's DACs I don't believe you need to worry about setting up the base management in the player.

Depending on the player, you might want to take the time to set up the parameters within the player for analog use if the DACs in the player exceed those in the receiver. I've got a Denon 3910/3805 combo and I let the 3910 do all of my music, but I play DVDs via digital and let the 3805 do the decoding.

DVD Player setup:

Bass Management: Large/Small speaker settings. Only one component should handle bass management. Receiver, DVD player or another specialty component such Outlaw’s ICBM. If another component is handling bass management set all speakers to large or turn off bass management.
