Hi everyone - I just moved into a new place and I'm looking to change my rack setup a bit. I'm thinking of getting one rack to hold my TV and my center speaker (B&W HTM62), and another to put across the living room to hold my other gadgets.
I'm looking at the Studiotech HF-3 for the TV/center speaker - it has the general dimensions I want, except the center poles will prevent my center speaker from sitting centered under the TV on the upper shelf (ie it would have to go to the left or right of that center pole). The website/product manual says that upper center pole can be recessed to accommodate a center speaker (in front of that center pole) but there still wouldn't be enough clearance for the HTM62 which is about 13" deep.
So, my question is - can that upper center pole be removed entirely without compromising the stability of the rack? My TV weighs 86 pounds.
If so, I'd go with an HF3 and HF4. Otherwise, I'll look at a PS-3 and an HF4 - but those units have a slightly different look to them.
Thanks all!
Justin
