Stuck in Protect mode(Sony STR D315)

So I`m all excited about moving into my new home.I hook up my Sony reciever to my 2 Pinnacle speakers,my CD player and my new digital TV box for audio in to the Sony...All sounds great until POOF-the sound goes out and the "Protect"warning begins flashing in my face..I found another thread on this site which said to check speaker wire connections and a few other remedies.I tried all-even disconnecting all other boxes and cables..The Protect light is staying on and I can`t listen to my new Lewis Taylor CD or anything else....HELP...Please..

You may have to unplug it from the wall receptacle and let it sit for awhile; there may also be a reset procedure that will set everything back to factory defaults (check the manual).

If the receiver will turn on after that (with nothing at all connected), then start with just two speaker wires and try the tuner. If it works, then start connecting other devices and speakers one by one. Step by step troubleshooting may help you to isolate what caused the protection mode.

Still not working

I`ve tried everything except a possible reset.It seems that paying 20-25$ for a manual might not be money well spent.I`m just about ready to leave it with the next load of dumping material...
