Hey guys, I feel like I'm getting old (25) b/c I'm starting to not be able to keep up with all the tech lol.

My issue is that I've moved into a new, larger home that has my PC in the study and not near the TV/AVR. I'm looking for the best way to be able to stream audio/video from my PC to my TV/AVR. I've been trying to read up on AppleTV, AirPlay, etc...and it's looking like AppleTV might be something that I want if it's completely wireless b/c my router is in the study. If it just sends signal from router to the appleTV near the tv/avr in the living room then that'd be great! Especially if it does it well!!

I have tons of content, both audio and video, from torrents. 99% of audio is downloaded in flac/wav format, but getting it into Itunes isn't a problem when it's in WAV format, so not an issue for AppleTV in regards to audio. (can appleTV stream Pandora from brower btw? lol) Anyways, I also would like to be able to watch any downloaded movies on the tv in the living room if possible. MKV is what I'd like to be able to play since it's the highest resolution and not hard to come by with torrents. Not sure if AppleTV can play MKV though.

So, basically wanting to be able to stream my music (can be on Itunes if needed) and movies (mostly torrents in MKV for 720p+ res.) from my HTPC in my study to my AVR/TV in the living room about 30-40 feet away. Here's everything I have to make it easier to be able to see what I can and can't do...

AVR
Yamaha RX-V663 (no AirPlay; have a buyer at $200 for this so if AirPlay will make it better than AppleTV or anything like that then I can do that)
Samsung PN50A550, but soon to be Panny 65st50 or waiting for new line to come out

HTPC
- Intel i5-2500k OC'd
- GTX 580 OC'd
- Asus P8z68 mobo
- 1200 watt corsair gold rated PSU, blah blah blah. It's a beastly computer and shouldn't have a problem with much I hope

Thank you all for your help sooooo much!! My job is getting super busy (petroleum geologist) and I just don't have time lately to research all this. I'm hoping all the help I've done on this forum and others will come back to me now! :D:D
