Ok heres what happened... Last night after listening to music for a quite few hours probably 10 or so. I then shut the receiver down thinking I was done and going to bed, but then about a half hour later a friend came over to watch a movie so I went to turn it back on and it came on for a second until it went to activate then it shut down. Nothing had been touched since I was using it just a half hour before and it wasnt hot and it wasn't storming. So I looked in the manual and tried what it says. I left it unplugged over night and unhooked all the speakers just incase one was causing the problem, then tried it this morning, and still it shuts itself off? So there are no speakers hooked up at all, I don't know what could be causing it to shut down? Should I take it back and get it fixed or is there something else I can try? Hopefully someone can help.... Thanks

It is strange, yes. How hard did you play it during those 10 hrs?
With everything unplugged and still shuts down, it looks like you need to send it in. Call the maker first and talk to them before sending it in. Maybe they have another fix?

So I called A&B Sound and they said to bring it in and they will send it away to get fixed. It will take about two weeks and I should have it back. Is there any other options when I take it in there tomorrow? Could I pay a few hundred extra and get a new Yamaha or do they not do trade ups like that? Or what else could I do? I don't really want to be without a receiver for 2 weeks but I guess if I have to...

I have no idea what their policy is. Ask them. If you cannot wait for 2 weeks, you might have to pay for that impatience:p
