Im still trying to set this thing up. I have set the cross overs for the speakers at 80HZ. but it seems like I don't get much out of the SBL AN SBR speakers when its playing in DTS or 5.1EX the vol. seems so much lower coming out of them even if you turn them way up. does the LFE have anything to do with it? you can set that to whatever you want. its on right an left im asuming that means fronts.

No, the LFE doesn't have anything to do with it. Setting a xover frequency for the LFE is a useless feature IMO. The LFE can be as high as 120 Hz but is usually much lower - if you set the LFE to 80 Hz you will effectively discard all the frequencies greater than 80 Hz for those few soundtracks that have LFE content greater than 80 Hz. Very few receivers lets you set that and for good reason.

How much is routed to the surround back speakers is dependent on the mix of the soundtrack you are playing. Some will have a lot of content there and some will not. If you use a matrix decoder like PLIIx you may get more sound from the surround backs as it will synthesize those channels from the original 5.1 DD-EX.

Lfe

I just wasn't sure what that setting was. but it can't be set in HZ. the only changes you can make is setting it left/right, center, or to the rears

If all speaker sets are set @ 80Hz, it doesn't matter which you use for LFE. You can set the channel levels using the EZset or manually, see pg. 29.

To me that sounds like the feature many receivers offer whereby you can send the LFE to the front speakers in addition to the subwoofer but in this case you have additional options to do that for center and rear as well. If all the speakers are set to Small then that option should not even be available because it requires the speakers to be set to Large.
