Still a newbie - is this a good purchase

I've been on this site a year and I love learning from everyone. Thank you in advance for any information you'd be willing to share.

- this is for the bedroom - the wife is terrified of my old yamaha bookselves falling over on our littlest, so I was able to finagle some wiggle room in the house budget for an upgrade. I'm still getting bookshelves - but I've found some great speaker mounts at Lowes that will hold a sizable shelf. While doing some bargain research, I just stumbled on a deal that I don't know too much about, thus I was hoping to reach out to you and see if this is a good deal at $1650 for the set. I am going over to the guys house tonight or tomorrow to listen to the sound - any info, again, would be appreciated.

I have underlined very questionabl purchases in my mind.

600 dollars for a cd player?

Oppo's don't cost that much.

You have over 3650 dollars in the amp/ pre-amp section and only 2750 in the speakers.

your combined buget apppers to be around 7 grand. generally only 1400 would be the max to spend on your pre-amp/amp sections. For that I suggest Yamaha Pro-Amps.

We need goals to make good recommendations.

Is this for music or home theater?

What's your true budget?

I don't suggest you buy anything until we can really help you get this thing going in the right direction.

Run over there right now and get it. If all is for that price its really a no brainer....GO GET UM...
