This is definitely not my favorite Steve Winwood tune but check out "Higher Love". It came up on my 300 disc changer yesterday and Holy Sh**, there is a ton of stuff going on in that song. I never paid that much attention to it before. Could be that my system was crap back then too.

While you got the Winwood out, play "Arc of a Diver" too, very nice!

Winwood is a favorite of mine. "Back in the High Life" is an underrated album. Most of the songs including the title track were written by Steve after his split with Nicole Tacot. She left only a Mandolin and with that, he penned the title track.

The thing I liked about "Higher Love", while played to death on the radio at the time. Was the presence of Chaka Khan and the layering of the track. Absolutely a spellbinding cut.

But, I always reach for "Traffic: Live in Santa Barbara" and "Dear Mr. Fantasy" of that album, it is pure heaven.
