Channel 5 News in Nashville is reported former Titans quarterback Steve McNair has been killed.

The television station cited police, who reported McNair suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head in downtown Nashville.

The shooting happened on Second South and Lea Avenue, the station reports. Police reported the shooting appeared to be a double homicide, with a woman also found dead.

Man - bad time to be someone of any notoriety lately. Also said a lady was found shot & dead. Was he with a woman he shouldn’t have been? Drug deal gone bad? (total speculation on my part, not implying anything)

Yeah, I just heard about this. I texted a bunch of people that "Air McNair had died" and no one wanted to believe me.

I am very startled to hear about this here in Panama City, Florida. He was a great QB. My heart goes out to his friends and family. As such, I will keep them all in my prayers.

The last report I have read said that it might be a murder suicide (speculation at this point).

From what my wife has been reading... it seems that this was a woman that McNair had been "supporting" (e.g. house, car, cash) on the side from his wife, and the speculation is one of two scenarios: A) The woman was unstable and this was a murder-suicide, or B) Her ex-boyfriend was very jealous of the two of them and killed both of them.

Either way, very sad story and my heart goes out to his family.

I was a life long Houston Oilers fan and a somewhat devoted but hesitant Titans fan and I blame his death on the Ravens influence....Jk.... Truth be told, I was a huge fan of Steve McNair and I was shocked by yesterday's news...but most decent people don't end up with bullet holes in their head JMO...
