Stereo speaker placement in an impossible room

Hi all, I know this question has been asked countless times but each setup and situation is unique and I desperately needed advice on placement in my living room. I have a NAD326BEE hooked to Monitor Audio BX2. Mostly playing Tidal thru Airport Express.
I'm a terrible artist but I've tried to draw my current setup & room. I am fed up with the sound. Poor imaging & detail and almost no lows until I'm pretty close to the speakers. I don't have the freedom to move things around too much but any suggestions on placement or moderate treatment are most welcome. I'm just hearing poor tonal balance right now like the speakers are yelling at me with no depth. My ceiling is 8.5 Ft high and maybe that 'corridor' in the bottom right of this image is also causing problems.

Prior to this the setup was along the long wall (opposite the window next to my tv) with the speakers set 3.5 Ft apart. I know I should have them much further apart but I have limitations on doing this. They sounded a bit better there but I had a lot of issues with bass bloom as they had to be pretty close to the front wall and my ears were very close to the back wall as well.

I've had the exact same kit in a previous home with more forgiving dimensions and was happy with what I heard.
