Why do you want a vintage amp/receiver? Are you good at repairing electronics? Vintage gear will require maintenance. I suggest you go to accessories4less and look at receivers. Then go out and listen to speakers until you find a pair you like that you can afford. Speakers are very personal. What sounds good to one person may not sound so good to another. You should be able to get a good receiver and speakers for $1,000. What are you going to use as a source? Peace and goodwill.
