Is it even possible to use USB to play music in 24/192? Is there a preamp where you can use a USB stick to play high resolution music or do have to use a separate DAC?

Had been so easy to just fill a USB stick with HD music and then listened to it through your HIFI setup.

I don't know which Marantz model he linked, but most 2014 though 2016 mid range AVRs have a USB port in the front that can be used to play up to 24/192 music files on USB flash drives. Some of the older models will not play 24/192 files and certain formats. For example the Marantz AV7005, AV7701 or the corresponding AVRs cannot play 24/192 flac, though they all have a front USB port, and yes it is hidden behind the hinged cover. For Marantz, you have to go with something newer than those models, such as the AV7702, or for AVRs, SR7008 and newer. Same thing for two channel integrated amp with build in DACs, you have to read the fine prints regarding their limitations in terms of resolutions, the USB flash drive storage capacity and file formats (FAT32/NTFS/ExFAT) etc.
